Does the media understand Muslims? Do Muslims understand the media? And what happens when 60 young Muslims spend a weekend in the same hall as 30 journalists?

In May 2012, Multicultural Media Exchange (MME), an Australian NGO that encourages honest and open discussion between people of different backgrounds, convened the Media & Young Muslim Conference. Held at the Melbourne Town Hall, and attended by the likes of George Negus and Mohammed Elleissy, the three-day conference was covered by journalist Bill Snaddon. Muslims and the Media is a short documentary that emerged from Bill’s coverage.
